The Moroccan authorities have started imposing an arbitrary fine of 300 dirhams on citizens who do not have a vaccination passport, which has become an official document approved by the Ministry of Health, as a condition for travel and access to public spaces.
This, and the first case was monitored on Thursday, October 21, 2021, related to a citizen who was fined, the aforementioned amount, by the security authorities of the Al Hoceima Regional Command in the Beni Farah Center, due to his lack of a vaccination permit, while traveling from Tangiers to Al Hoceima.
The government had decided, starting last Thursday, to adopt a new precautionary approach based on the “passport of vaccination” as a document approved by the health authorities, by taking a set of measures.
These measures include allowing people to move between prefectures and regions, through private or public means of transport, provided that the “vaccination passport” is made exclusively, the “vaccination passport” is approved as a document for travel abroad and the cancellation of the movement permit issued by the competent local authorities in this regard.
These measures also concern the necessity for employees, users and escorts of administrations to provide a “vaccination permit” to enter public, semi-public and private administrations, and the need to provide a “vaccination permit” to enter hotel and tourist establishments, restaurants, cafes, closed spaces, shops, sports halls and bathrooms.
