The same sources added that the wooden boat set off from Sidi Abed, and there were 15 Moroccans on board, including 5 women, but the boat’s engine broke down while sailing.
Three of the boat’s passengers stole an engine from a sailor who was on a fishing trip, and attacked him with knives, and stole his boat’s engine after they physically assaulted him and left him at sea.
Hespress sources said that the marine patrol of the Al-Jarf Gendarmerie chased the illegal immigrants, and arrested them 12 kilometers north of El-Jadida. They were then brought before the Public Prosecution.
It is worth noting that the Public Prosecution decided to refer the detainees to the investigating judge for follow-up on charges of “organizing irregular migration, theft described, and assault with a weapon.”
