Once again, the Souss-Massa region has shone in the culinary world by hosting the regional qualifiers of the “Jeunes Talents Escoffier” cooking competition, held at Villa Limoun in the city of Oulad Teima. This event, which is not just a competition to identify the best among Morocco’s young chefs but also an opportunity to highlight the rich and diverse culture of Moroccan cuisine and enhance its standing on the international stage, has become a vibrant meeting place for talented young Moroccan chefs.
Hisham Andam, the head chef at the Hyatt Regency Taghazout hotel unit, expressed his pride in the high level demonstrated by the participants, underscoring the importance of this competition as it helps to elevate Morocco’s name in international culinary forums. Anzam emphasized that Moroccan cuisine, known for its variety and richness, is highly regarded worldwide, and the competition represents a golden opportunity for Moroccan chefs to showcase their skills and creativity.
Lahcen Hafid, president of the “Les Disciples Escoffier” association in Morocco, highlighted the crucial role this competition plays in promoting Moroccan cultural identity and developing the skills of young chefs. He pointed out that the Souss-Massa region, thanks to its promising talents and hard work, has become a bright spot on the Moroccan culinary map.
Amin Bouslikhn, the general manager of the “Villa Limoun” tourist resort, expressed his pride in hosting the second edition of this significant competition, reaffirming the resort’s commitment to supporting young chefs and contributing to the promotion of Moroccan culinary culture. Bouslikhn praised the efforts made to make this event a resounding success, emphasizing the importance of introducing and valuing Moroccan cuisine as an integral part of global cultural heritage.
