The Kasbah of Agadir Oufella is preparing to receive its visitors after its rehabilitation works have reached their final phase, at a rate of 96 percent. The inauguration of this historic monument will take into account all the observations made by the personalities and officials.
It should be noted that this project will allow the city of Agadir in Morocco to restore an important part of its historical memory, since it will not only remain the first seaside tourist destination at the national level, but will also become a long-standing destination qualifications that integrate with other historical and cultural elements available in the depths of the great destination of Agadir in Morocco.
The general manager of the Tourism Development Company of the Souss-Massa region explained, in previous press releases, that the rehabilitation project of the Kasbah of “Agadir Oufella” in Morocco is based on the principle of “recovery”. , a return to the old status of the Kasbah, including the reconstruction of symbolic and historical places, according to the original specifications that the site had in the 1960s.
He also indicated that the total cost of the restoration of this historical monument amounted to 120 million dirhams, allocated to the completion of a group of archaeological excavations, as well as the preparation of the exterior walls and the creation wooden paths, which will allow visitors to walk. inside this archaeological site, while respecting its privacy as a mass grave for the victims of the 1960 Agadir earthquake in Morocco.
The Kasbah rehabilitation project was based on a multidisciplinary scientific protocol which involved specialists in archaeology, history and anthropology, as well as architects and civil engineers, according to scientific and participatory principles, while mobilizing the latest techniques of digitization in documentation and preservation.
