The man was transporting 8.5 kilograms of cocaine from Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was scheduled to fly on to Freetown, Sierra Leone, according to state-owned media outlet Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
Moroccan customs officers discovered the drugs hidden in steel and plastic boxes in the Lithuanian’s luggage. They also found 16 counterfeit €50 bills.
DGSN is holding the young man in custody for investigation.
The arrest is part of DGSN’s efforts to fight international drug trafficking.
