Many puzzling questions regarding the death of a young man, Amine Chariz, in Agadir trigger public outburst.
Amin Chariz, 21 years old, was with his friends Saturday night in a luxurious restaurant. A fight broke out between him and another guy and led to his death.
Two different stories went viral on social media, Amine threw himself out of the car while they were driving fast under the influence of alcohol. In contrast, the other story says that the other guy hit him with a baseball bat in the head which eventually put an end to his life.
Is it a car accident, as they claim, or a foul play behind the scene? These are the questions that have been asked repeatedly since the outbreak of this issue. Social Media users took the hashtag #Justicepouraminechariz to push authorities to investigate the case.
On the Facebook group JusticeForAmine, many audio recordings exchanged between Amin’s friends went viral. It contains confessions of beating the young man and other secrets.
Amine’s mother asserted on a video shared on social media that her son had been beaten on his head till death.
“I arrived at Al Massira airport in Agadir. I went directly to Hassan II Hospital. I started examining my son’s body. He had no scratches. He had one wound in his head. I even kissed his feet and begged him to wake up. “He was only injured in his head,” Amin’s mother said crying.
His sister declared that she was calling her brother incessantly that night, ” we were in contact, texting each other everything was fine; until he was late back home, I started calling him but no response, then one of his friends picked up his phone. I was then apprehensive. He never left his phone to anybody. But his friend said that he was in the other car with other friends and he had forgotten the phone.”
Aside from their anguish from losing a son and a brother, Amine Chariz’s family is outraged at how their son has passed away. Now they are waiting for Police to investigate the mysterious death of the 21-year-old.
