Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS) Khalihenna Ould Errachid held, Wednesday in Rabat, talks with speaker of the Irish Lower House of Parliament Seán Ó Fearghaíl, on the latest developments in the Moroccan Sahara issue.
During the talks, Ould Errachid said that “the Moroccan autonomy initiative, which is the solution put on the United Nations negotiating table, was developed by the Sahrawis, the first concerned by the issue,” a CORCAS statement said.
The Irish official’s working visit to the Kingdom (7-11 January) comes at a time when Ireland plans to open its embassy in Rabat next year to strengthen bilateral ties, the statement added.
