Providing indispensable humanitarian support to people and children in remote villages is a national duty. Enabling the next generation living in the mountains to bring hope home is a human necessity. We have witnessed excellence and scientific leadership in the lives of many people through support for schools, health, and medical infrastructure, as well as various social initiatives. This is why we must look to the future with optimism, revive hope in hearts, and progress on the path of construction, while civil society continues to lead this work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the Soroptimist Club of agadir organized a social excursion to the Oulad Berhil area in the province of Taroudant and a field visit to the village “Aguerd Ourgh” and its annex school in the rural community of “Tigouga,” where there is a school canteen built thanks to an initiative by the club in collaboration with several stakeholders. The club closely monitors and supports essential needs, providing midday meals to students in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As usual, the club members stocked the “Aguerd Ourgh” school canteen in “Tigouga” with necessary food supplies. They also distributed clothing and shoes to a large number of students from the annex school and some families in the area to cope with the harsh mountain climate. Joy and satisfaction were palpable. The students and their mentors expressed their happiness by presenting a series of songs and animations, and enthusiastically reciting the national anthem, with festive displays symbolizing many signs and delicacies. The most remarkable was the silent feelings expressed by the bright eyes of a childhood full of hope and confidence in the future, interacting with visitors with sincerity, spontaneity, and an innocent smile as pure as the trees and branches surrounding the prefabricated classrooms perched on a mountainside. In contrast to the concrete canteen built with good specifications and architectural standards, the two classrooms are vibrant with life, their walls adorned with the colors of knowledge, decorated by the fingers of future talents, with simple ideas to assimilate letters and numbers, like the game of hopping on the required numbers, in ascending or descending order. Thus, an active, practical, and cognitive activity, animated by the students in an innovative way to enhance interaction and understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A childhood overflowing with intelligence, ambition, and talent, needing polishing and care for the men of tomorrow and the hope of the future. It was a day rich in overflowing emotions and mental clarity, animated by the mountain childhood, in its purity and natural love for the other and the guest. A public space witnessing a will and determination to succeed academically, despite the harshness of nature and the rough paths, in a creative adaptation to climatic constraints and geographical isolation. The students of the annex school “Aguerd Ourgh” are a model of Moroccan brilliance. Their eyes shine, and their responses to current questions reveal obvious intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Lahcen Oulhoussein, whose wife voluntarily cooks meals for the village’s students, expressed his joy at the various initiatives carried out by the club in all fields, with constant follow-up and generous provision of supplies and materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Oulhoussein is one of the village residents affected by the recent earthquake. The club also made a social visit to the private traditional education school “Al Qadi Ayyad” in Oulad Berhil, offering gifts to the students and learning about their curriculum and good living conditions, supported by benefactors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that the village “Aguerd Ourgh” is located in the community of Tkoka, Oulad Berhil circle, Taroudant province, Souss-Massa region. It belongs to the Tigouga community, which includes 26 villages scattered among mountains with steep paths. This rural community in Taroudant province, Souss-Massa region, has over 4,500 inhabitants. More than half of its villages were affected by the Al Haouz earthquake in 2023 due to the strength of the earthquake. Many community residents still live in difficult conditions, under temporary tents, awaiting the construction of new houses.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Soroptimist Club of Agadir has 21 members, professionally active women who work together at local and regional levels to improve the daily lives of the poor, especially the education and living conditions of girls and women. The club undertakes several social initiatives, sponsoring the “Aguerd Ourgh” school canteen, which hosts students from distant and scattered villages. The club also rehabilitated the water tank in the region by repairing the tank damaged by the earthquake in June 2024. The club continues to provide aid, purchase supplies and school books, and support various institutions with tables and quantities of books, in addition to several awareness activities in various fields.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
